The Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) has announced the temporary suspension of its ongoing staff verification exercise following a stampede that occurred during the process on Thursday.
In an internal circular dated August 1, 2025, and signed by the Board’s Director of Administration, Mrs. Ibisaki Dappa, the decision to postpone the exercise was based on directives received by the Acting Chairman of the Board.
The statement, addressed to all departmental heads, supervising directors, principals, head teachers, and relevant educational associations, urged them to disseminate the information to staff across departments, local government education authorities, and schools.
A new date for the continuation of the exercise is expected to be announced in due course.
