The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, has completed her defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), formalising her membership at the ward level.
Professor Odu received her APC membership card at her home ward of Akabuka in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), during a brief registration ceremony attended by party officials and community stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, the deputy governor pledged her commitment to working closely with the party leadership to promote development and strengthen grassroots mobilisation within her constituency.
Her defection comes shortly after Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s move to the APC, a development that effectively places the state’s executive leadership under the control of the ruling party.
Observers say the latest political realignment is likely to reshape Rivers State’s political landscape as the state prepares for future electoral contests.
