Hon. Enemi Alabo George, Member representing Asari Toru Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly says there is no court order stopping the House from performing its functions.
Alabo who made this known in a statement said saying there is an order restraining them from holding plenary is the worst form of reckless falsehood.
According to him some persons approached the court making frivolous demands, but the court denied all their pleas.
He vowed to resign on Monday, if Edison Ehie and his men can produce a video or any evidence showing where they held plenary.
Part of his statement reads,
There is no court case at all that is stopping the House of Assembly from performing it’s function. When they say that there is a court order stopping us from performing our duties, such is the worst form of falsehood, reckless falsehood. The Rivers State House of Assembly has not been asked by any court to stop it’s function at all. They approached the court, making frivolous demands and the court denied all their pleas.
The 27 lawmakers led by Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule have a subsisting court judgement that says that the executive or any other organ of government both state and federal should not interfere with our activities. So the House of Assembly is carrying out it’s duties unfettered.
There is also no such thing as division or faction in the House. Ehie Edison, Victor Ok Jumbo and the two others with him are all suspended members. 4 cannot be more than 27. If they can produce a video or any evidence showing where they ever sat, I will turn in my resignation by Monday.
