FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has sued for peace in the ongoing crisis in Rivers State.
The former governor of the state in a statement when some traditional rulers visited him at his residence in Port Harcourt to felicitate him on the occasion of his birthday said he is ready for peace, but not at the expense of his political future and that of his supporters.
Wike said only those who do not know the value of peace are calling for war, adding that he stands for the unity of the state.
He warned politicians against destroying the ladder used in climbing to exotic positions.
According to him, issues in the state have nothing to do with ethnicity and warned those giving the disagreement an ethnic undertone to desist from doing so.
He added that Rivers people voted for continuity and not based on ethnicity.
