Port Harcourt, May 29 — Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has called on his supporters and the general public to express gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his swift intervention in resolving the state’s political crisis, which he said averted a descent into anarchy.
Speaking in Port Harcourt on Thursday during a meeting with members of the Simplified Movement to mark his second year in office, Fubara said peace and reconciliation efforts were already underway to restore functionality to both the executive and legislative arms of government.
Fubara assured that democracy and effective governance would soon return to the state as political tensions ease and institutions resume full operation.
“I want to assure you that the issues will soon be resolved, and you will return to your offices — not just in the Executive, but also the Legislative arm,” Fubara stated. “I believe the strong relationships we had before will be restored, and we will begin to work together again for the progress of the state. What is important is for us to have a forgiving spirit.”
