Factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule has accused Gov. Sim Fubara of not obeying court orders and the country’s constitution.
Amaewhule, who made the allegation in reaction to the court ruling which dismissed a suit by the APP to declare his seat and that of his men vacant, alleged that Fubara has sworn not to obey the constitution.
According to him, the court ruling has shown that he remains Speaker of the House of Assembly.
He denied defecting to the APC, adding that they were elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
“27 of us never defected to any other party. We were elected under the platform of the People Democratic Party and we never defected. We never took any steps to defect to another party.
“He has sworn not to respect the Constitution of Nigeria. Fubara has sworn not to respect the judgements of the court even the Supreme Court and he has decided to govern Rivers outside every provision of the law. But we should be rest assured that all of us will continue to push for our democracy. We will remain undeterred,” he said.
