The Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, Chukwuemeka Aaron has reacted to the political unrest in Rivers State stating that the party is not working for any ethnic group but for the interest of the state.
Aaron in a statement Today in Port Harcourt said those who worked against Fubara during the election are now trying to come through the back door to cause problems, adding that their plans will fail.
He warned such persons to desist from it, as peace will reign in the party.
Part of his statement reads,
Those writing what they don’t know on social media are part of the problem in our party.
If you have been doing it before, you have to stop it, because you are not doing us any good.
When Wike was the Governor here in Rivers State we all know that he was the best Governor in Nigeria.
Today he is a minister in Abuja and you think that all you can do is to rubbish him, we won’t accept it.
Now that Wike is a minister in Abuja, all we need is to back up our Governor ( Sim Fubara) to sustain the development in the state.
The state exco of our party is not for any ethnic group; we’re working for all , for the system that brought all of us .
We all worked hard across the 23 LGAs to win all our seats (Governor , National and State Assembly ) in the elections and now that it is time to enjoy the fruit of our labour , the devil has come to cause problem, God won’t let it happen.
Those who said all manner of things against the governor when he emerged flag bearer of our party, and even worked against him during the election are now trying to come through the back door to cause problems, it will not work. Peace will rein in our party.
