Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara says the reason the nine pro-Wike commissioners resigned from office was to cripple his administration.
Governor, Fubara made the assertion at the Rivers State Day of Thanksgiving of Praise and Worship that held at the Main Bowl of Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre along Moscow Road in Port Harcourt Old Township on Wednesday.
According to him, the enemies thought the resignation of the commissioners would cripple his administration; thereby halting governance in the State.
He described the October 30th incident in the State as an assassination attempt on Rivers people.
He said, “A lot of you might not understand what happened on the 30th of October, 2023. It was an assassination attempt on the people of Rivers State, indirectly and assassination on me directly.
“Since they can’t kill everyone of you, they need to kill one person so that every body will be declared dead.
“But somehow, somewhere, by the special grace of God, they failed and the God that we are thanking today made it possible. What they meant for evil, God turned it to good.
“They said Commissioners should resign so that we will be crippled. But today we have more than 23 Commissioners.
“They said, in a programme in Rivers State University, that we can are not going to able to do anything. They vowed to frustrate us.
“They resolved never to allow us to succeed. But by the special grace of God, we have embarked on projects that are touching the lives of Rivers people.
