The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Nwisabari Bani Samuel, has called for the arrest of Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, the factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, accusing him of illegally parading himself as the Speaker.
Nwisibari made the call during a State Management Committee meeting in Port Harcourt on Monday.
He berated Governor Sim Fubara for recognizing Oko-Jumbo as Speaker and presenting the state budget to his faction. He described the governor’s actions as an attempt to create disunity in the state.
“I call on law enforcement agencies to arrest a certain person known as Oko-Jumbo for parading himself as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly when he lacks locus standi to operate in that capacity” Nwisabari stated.
He commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and President, Bola Tinubu for their developmental strides in the FCT and the nation and called for support for the current administration.
The NYCN chairman also issued a 14-day ultimatum to state commissioners, urging them to resign and halt unauthorized spending of public funds. He warned that failure to comply would prompt the council to seek legal action.
