The Rivers State Police Command says it will never abandon any of its officers who gets injured or killed while on duty.
State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday said this when he visited Sergeant Emehurus Oluchukwu who survived an attack on the Elimgbu Police station by unknown gunmen, few days ago.
The CP, who hailed the officer for his gallantry, said the Command never abandoned him, as they were only making sure perpetrators of the crime were arrested.
He said the command will pay the medical bills of the Sergeant who escaped death with severe bullet wounds.
Wife of the Police officer, Ngozi Oluchukwu commended the Police Commissioner for the visit.
This is coming barely 48 hours after she had raised an alarm that her husband may die if he is not immediately treated.
She had also accused the Police hierarchy of abandoning her husband and the family.
