The Rivers State Police Commissioner, Tunji Disu has cautioned police officers against extorting motorists and residents of the state.
The CP gave the warning when he visited some checkpoints across the state on Friday to boost the morale of officers towards ensuring adequate security of lives and properties this yuletide.
Disu who was escorted by senior officers of the command assured members of the public of improved security during and after the festive period.
He advised residents to be law abiding and report crime and criminality to the nearest police station.
