The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong has reportedly gifted a young female spoken word artist the sum of five hundred thousand naira.
This was during an interactive dinner with the CP organized by Bosinde Araikpe Global Peace Initiative and the Rivers State Police Command on Sunday.
A Facebook user, Henshaw Jacobson made this known in a post. He said the gift was due to the girl’s performance when she was brought on stage by Bosinde to perform.
His statement reads

During the Interactive Dinner with CP Okon Effiong Okon, organized by the Bosinde Araikpe Global Peace Initiative and the Rivers State Police Command on Sunday, May 21st, 2023, I was surprised when Mr Bosinde announced that he had discovered a young spoken word artist in his church and she will be given the opportunity to perform at the dinner.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect. But little did we know, this performance would leave an indelible mark on our hearts.
As the young girl took the stage, her words flowed with a poetic brilliance that mesmerized the entire audience. We couldn’t help but be captivated by her eloquence and profound insights. It was evident that she had a deep understanding of the power of her art form, and she skillfully utilized the platform to express her gratitude and admiration for the police force.
I particularly enjoyed her rhymes and wordplay
She commended the police for their unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property, often at the risk of their own lives. And I’m sure all the officers felt appreciated
And yeah, the young girl got half a million from the CP, we must also recognize and extend our gratitude to Mr. Bosinde.
Through his keen eye for potential and unwavering support, he discovered this young artist and provided her with a platform to showcase her extraordinary abilities.
Mr. Bosinde is one here that is not all about himself. He makes sure he creates opportunities for others to shine and I celebrate him for that.
Also, we express our deepest gratitude to the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Okon Effiong Okon, for his presence and for hosting such a memorable event.
