A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt, has sentenced two ladies, 28-year-old Amarachi Ahukanna, and 21-year-old Chinaza smart to twelve years imprisonment for child trafficking and conspiracy.

Chief magistrate, Felicitas Amanze said the two accused persons committed a heinous crime against an innocent child.

They were found guilty of conspiring to sell two-year-old Daniel Smart, who is the second son of one Chinaza Smart, for four hundred thousand naira.

The child whose whereabout is still unknown was sold to a woman named Precious from Anambra State.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Rivers State chapter of the Federation of International Female Lawyers, FIDA, Esther Achor-Korienta, has hailed the judgment.
