A 50 Year-Old man, Dickson Iwor accused of defiling a 15 year old girl in 2019, has been discharged and acquitted by a Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
Mr. Vincent who had always maintained his innocence, since he was accused of the crime, was discharged by Chief Magistrate Amanka Amanze for lack of evidence.
Amaka Amanze in her ruling, also said that the Police failed to properly investigate the matter which lasted for two years.
Shortly after the ruling, Mr Vincent commended the court for the ruling, stating that he is innocent of the crime.
Meanwhile, the International Federation of Women Lawyers in Rivers State, has advised victims of sexual abuse and their family members to ensure they have enough evidence for such matters.
