Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has lost his Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s council elections.
The APC candidate, Barrister James A. James, was declared winner after polling a total of 38,882 votes, defeating other candidates.
In contrast, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, delivered victory for the PDP in his Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, where the party’s candidate, Gift Worlu, was declared winner by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
