The Rivers State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Civil Servants, Chukuka Osumah, has assured workers in the state that they will soon receive their salaries following a directive issued by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Osumah, in a statement explained that the Governor’s order aligns with his recent decision to suspend all financial approvals made by the immediate past Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas.
He noted that the suspension was necessary and expressed the union’s full support for the Governor’s move.
The Civil Service Chairman further appealed to the Governor to reconsider the suspension of overhead payments for ministries and funds allocated to union groups, stressing that such support is critical for effective operations.
