Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe has said that attacking and kidnapping people, and blocking INEC office does not reflect the virtues of a Christian state.
Abe, who made this known in his Easter message to Rivers people, called on people of the state to allow peace reign.
According to him, Easter exemplifies the sacrifice of Christ, redemption and hope to humanity. He also said when the love of Christ, tolerance, kindness, helping one another and other virtues of Christ is reflected in what happens in our state, then we can say Rivers state is a Christian state.
He also said on Thursday, some persons applied for materials on behalf of the SDP from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but, they got instruction suddenly to close for the day and asked everybody to come back on Tuesday.
He revealed that the party will not accept what happened on March 18. “We don’t think our people were allowed to democratically and effectively choose their leadership in accordance with provisions of the Electoral Act. So, we will be going to court to challenge that,” he said.
