The Rivers State House of Assembly has pledged to collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to address traffic congestion and reduce the rate of road accidents across the state.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, gave the assurance on Thursday when he received a delegation from the FRSC Obio/Akpor Unit Command, led by Assistant Corps Commander Okwo Obeten, during a courtesy visit to his office.
Amaewhule commended the FRSC for its efforts in promoting road safety and maintaining order on the roads, noting that the legislature would support initiatives aimed at improving traffic management and ensuring safer roads for residents.
Earlier, Assistant Corps Commander Okwo Obeten explained that the visit was to strengthen the partnership between the FRSC and the state legislature in tackling road safety challenges within Obio/Akpor and the entire state.
