The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, on Thursday led members of the legislature to Abua/Odual Local Government Area for the inauguration of projects and vehicles executed by the council chairman, Hon. Ofori Owolobi Michael, as part of activities marking his first 100 days in office.
The inaugurated items included 35 minibuses, two haulage vans, four 14-seater buses, 30 motorcycles, an ambulance, and a newly completed community hall.
Speaking during the event, stakeholders from the area, including Henry Ogiri and Ukiel Oyagiri, used the occasion to draw attention to the deplorable condition of the Ahoada–Abua road, appealing to the state government to prioritise its reconstruction.
Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Hon. Ofori Owolobi Michael, explained that the acquisition of the buses was aimed at easing transportation challenges and improving mobility for residents of the area.
In his remarks, Speaker Amaewhule commended the council chairman for the projects and assured the people that the Rivers State House of Assembly would provide the necessary legislative support to ensure the construction of the Ahoada–Abua road.
