The Rivers State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, pledging continued support for him as he backs President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Martin Amaewhule made the position known during a thank-you visit by the FCT Minister to Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, noting that members were proud of Wike’s leadership and political influence.

Amaewhule described Wike as a true Nigerian whose value, he said, is well known to those who understand the country’s political landscape. He urged the minister to convey their message to President Tinubu, stating that the same political effort deployed during the 2023 general elections would be repeated in future contests.

According to him, Obio/Akpor recorded the highest number of votes in the state in 2023 due to Wike’s leadership, declaring the former governor as the undisputed political leader of the state.

He assured the minister that party loyalists would campaign from unit to unit to highlight and promote the achievements of President Tinubu.

Amaewhule further pledged the full support of his constituency to Wike, expressing confidence that the FCT Minister would continue to succeed in the political affairs of Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole.

Also speaking at the event, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ogundu Chinda, assured Wike of the unwavering support of the people of Obio/Akpor, insisting that no one could intimidate or threaten him in Rivers State.

Chinda described Wike as a father figure to the people, stating that they were always ready to follow his directives. He commended President Tinubu for appointing Wike as FCT Minister, saying the move reflected the president’s confidence in his capacity and leadership.

On behalf of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chinda also praised Wike for his numerous achievements in Rivers State, acknowledging his contributions to the state’s development and political relevance.
