A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has reportedly ordered all the parties in the Rivers State Assembly crisis to maintain status quo.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik in a ruling on Monday, directed the parties not to take further steps, pending the determination of an application seeking to stop Governor Sim Fubara from re-presenting the already passed 2024 Rivers budget before the Amaewhule-led Assembly.
Justice Abdulmalik fixed February 28 to hear the application which was brought before the court by some elders of the state led by a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Bonny State Constituency, Hon. Victor Okoh Jumbo, Sen. Bennett Birabi, Senator Andrew Uchendu, Rear Admiral O.P. Fingesi, Ann Kio Briggs and Emmanuel Deinma.
As you may a Federal High Court Today declared the passage of the budget by the Edison Ehie-led assembly as illegal and ordered Gov. Fubara to re-present the budget before the Amaewhule-led faction.
