The Rivers State House of Assembly has adjourned its plenary sitting to March 17, 2026, after concluding the screening of commissioner nominees.
The House took the decision to adjourn during plenary on Monday following the completion of the screening exercise for the nominees forwarded to the Assembly.
During the session, the lawmakers confirmed five of the nominees while four others were rejected.
The screening formed part of the Assembly’s constitutional responsibility to consider and confirm nominees for appointment into the state executive council.
The House is expected to reconvene on March 17 to continue legislative activities
