The Sokonte-led APC in Rivers State has urged the Rivers State Government to use the N18 billion loan approved by the State House of Assembly to build cottage industries and create job opportunities for youths in the state.
Spokesperson of the Group, Ogbonna Nwuke who disclosed this in a statement yesterday, said the government should focus on improving the economy of the state.
He kicked against plans by the Wike-led administration to use the loan for the construction of a fourth flyover in Port Harcourt, when roads leading to various LGAs are in a sorry state and need to be urgently fixed.
Nwuke said the state has remained a consumer state other than a producing state that depends solely on federal allocation. He also noted that the APC will ensure the state remains the centre of democracy in the country.
