PORT HARCOURT — The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its readiness to accept suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara should he choose to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Chief Emeka Beke, the reinstated Rivers APC Chairman, made the disclosure on Tuesday in an interview with The PUNCH, stating that Fubara’s defection would be advantageous for both the governor and the party.
Beke’s comments come amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State and speculation that Fubara may cross over to the APC as part of a broader negotiation to resolve the crisis that led to his suspension by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Chizi Enyi, Beke affirmed that the party would not hesitate to welcome the governor.
