The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has reacted to the ruling of the Supreme Court, which dismissed the appeal brought before it by Igo Aguma, challenging the ruling of the Appeal Court which sacked him as acting chairman of the party.
The apex court in its ruling today, declared Isaac Ogbobula, the authentic chairman of the party, after dismissing Igo Aguma’s appeal.
Immediately after the ruling Igo Aguma and some of his loyalists, announced their resignation from the party, stating that they cannot be members of a party that fails to protect its members.
Spokesperson of the party in the state, Ogbonna Nwuke in a statement shortly after the ruling, said rivers people are elated by the ruling of the Apex Court.
He stated that the decision has lifted the veil and put all who were behind the action to destabilise the APC to shame.
He also reacted to Aguma’s resignation from the party, stating that, they wish him well in his future endeavors.
“We have learnt that Igo Aguma has withdrawn his membership of the party, following the crushing defeat. We can only wish him well in his future endeavours,” he said.
