Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Darlington Nwauju has written an open letter to sacked Rivers APC caretaker chairman, Tony Okocha after he rejected the court ruling which restrained him from parading himself as chairman of the party.
Nwauju in the letter urged Okocha to accept the court ruling and allow the party to heal.
The letter reads,
A SHORT NOTE TO CHIEF TONY OKOCHA KSJ:
Greetings to you Chief and I hope this short message makes some sense by at least serving as a reminder. It’s been 24hrs since the High Court in Port Harcourt delivered a landmark ruling confirming the argument I have held for two hundred and sixty-four days that the announcement of the dissolution of validly elected party executives without cogent and verifiable reasons on November 22 2023, was a reckless display of power. More embarrassing was the leprous treatment of not even giving these individuals who bought forms, sought and got the mandates of party members to serve them, an opportunity for fair hearing!
This, yours truly saw as an unnecessary treatment strategy of applying defibrillators with the excuse of curing headache.
It may interest you to know that yours truly is not obsessed with serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the APC as the future of all men does not lie in the hands of mortals. Yours truly believes in the benevolence of the Architect of the Universe who has already predestinated all men and no amount of struggles or fights can make any man what the Creator has not destined for him/her.
Let me jump into the reason for my short note and permit me to say that all ideas/opinions expressed in this piece are not made in my official capacity as Spokesperson of the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress but as a bonafide member of the party.
You have always come under the cover of “protests” or “rallies” to gaslight the public even when you lack the moral highground to lead such protestations or rallies and this to my mind, amounts to contrived deception on one hand and public nuisance. You keep weaving your obfuscated narrative of supporting Mr President, to drag the exalted office of the Commander-in-Chief into your selfish political calculations, just to attract sympathies. If this strategy (which by the way has become a cliche), is not hallucinatory, please, tell me what is?
To all intent and purpose, there is a valid judgement of Court and every true believer in constitutional democracy and the rule of law, must respect it while exploring his/her rights to challenge it even up to the Supreme Court.
This same SHC you have poured so much venom on and disparaged publicly in the last 24hrs, had infact issued unfavourable orders in the past against your own political opponents through Justice Chinwendu Nwogu (in 2018), with your very self acting as a prominent enabler of that suit. You even turned sole distributor/circulator of that Court judgement on various WhatsApp chatrooms and the conventional media. That judgement denied the APC in Rivers State the opportunity to field candidates for the 2019 elections!!
Playing very ignoble and disruptive roles at every election cycle has become your stock in trade.
The evidences keep starring you in the face even when you choose to call it “politics”. It keeps announcing your kind of integrity like the South African vuvuzela. Please allow Rivers APC heal.
Accept assurances of my fraternal regards.
Darlington Nwauju.
