The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has reacted to criticisms trailing the absence of the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi in the meeting between leaders of the South-South and the Presidency.
Some leaders of the region had criticised the former governor over his absence in the meeting as they claimed he deliberately exempted himself.
In a swift reaction to the criticisms, Spokesperson of the party in the state, Ogbonna Nwuke in a statement yesterday said Amaechi was in town for the meeting but left following urgent calls on the faulty section of the Abuja-Kaduna railway.
Nwuke noted that the minister could not have deliberately exempted himself from such an important gathering, as he noted that the claims are false.
