The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the immediate resignation of the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, over what it described as his persistent mockery and disregard for legitimate court decisions.
The demand followed comments allegedly made by Morka on the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, which the party said had raised doubts about the authenticity and credibility of statements attributed to the APC’s legally recognised spokesperson.
In a statement signed by spokesperson of the Emeka Beke-led faction, Darlington Nwauju, the Rivers APC expressed concern that Morka’s actions had cast a big question mark on the image of the party, particularly at a time when public confidence in the rule of law remains critical.
The party stressed that Morka’s continued stay in office could further damage the APC’s integrity and credibility, insisting that his resignation was necessary to restore discipline and confidence within the party.
The call for Morka’s resignation marks the latest development in the protracted political crisis in Rivers State and underscores the deepening internal disagreements within the APC.
