Former Federal lawmaker who represented Rivers South East senatorial district, Sen. Magnus Abe has said that a consensus cannot be reached in the Rivers APC, without consultations and respect for party members.
Speaking, during a meeting with members of the party in Port Harcourt, today, Abe when asked if he would contest the 2023 governorship election, said he was still consulting and that at the appropriate time, he will make his intention known.
According to him, he is not aware that President, Muhammadu Buhari has anointed a successor, adding that anyone who wants to be president, should be ready to show his/her credentials.
He also said such persons must be able to convince Nigerians and show why they should be voted for.
He explained that those serious about becoming president of the country, are already furnishig their credentials, and that those who have done nothing for the party should not be talking about becoming president under its platform.
