The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has reacted to reports that it did not hold its Ward and Local Government Congresses as planned.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Chris Finebone in a statement said the claim is false.
According to him, Congresses took place in all the local government areas except Asari Toru, due to what he described as “pockets of violence.”
“Ward delegate congresses took place in all the LGAs in Rivers apart from Asari Toru where there were pockets of violence,” he said.
Recall that there was a massive protest at the party’s Secretariat in Port Harcourt, on the day of the Congress over claims that the exercise had been hijacked by leadership of the party.
