Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in ward 16, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Achinike Owhomka has reportedly defected to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Owhomka and his supporters were received by governorship candidate of the party Sen. Magnus Abe on Saturday at Freedom House GRA, Port Harcourt.
Abe who commended the defectors for the bold step assured them of equal opportunities in the party.
According to him, the SDP is on course to win next year’s governorship election in the state without shedding the blood of anyone.
He urged the new members to mobilize and work for the party to emerge victorious next year.
