Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike says he will fulfill his promise of employing 5000 youths in the state.
Wike disclosed this while Speaking at the commissioning of the new Senate Building of the Rivers State University in Port Harcourt.
He said, his administration promised to employ 5000 youths but over 30,000 persons applied for the jobs.
The Governor, also said that accessing the applications alone is a major problem, but his promised must be fulfilled.
“We promised to employ 5000 Rivers youths but the application we have is over 30,000, thousands of applications from Imo, Abia and other states alone,” he said.”
“To sit down and look at the applications is even a problem. But we have promised our people job and we will surely fulfill our promise,” Wike added.
He also explained that his administration is committed to providing more jobs for youths in the state, despite his achievements in employement generation.
