Few days to the conduct of the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, has been reportedly dissolved.
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike had directed the State House of Assembly to dissolve the State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Ikunyin Ibani-Awaji, who read the letter from Governor Wike on the floor of the Assembly, requesting the dissolution of the commission after the debate on the matter said the dissolution is in the public interest of Rivers people.
