Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says governorship candidates from riverine extraction who contested the governorship election in the state did so for media popularity and nothing more.
Wike, who said this during the commissioning of Phase 1 of the Trans-Kalabari Road Today, said they(the candidates) knew they would not win but, only wanted to be seen.
He commended the Kalabari people for voting SIM Fubara, noting that none of the candidates could win their wards.
The governor also reacted to the resignation of PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, declaring that he is happy Ayu has gone.
According to him, Ayu who lost his ward, LGA and state cannot rule over those who won elections for the party.
He also said if they had all lost, nothing would have been left for Ayu to chair.
