The International Federation of Women Lawyers in Rivers State, is set to hold a town hall meeting for Governorship aspirants in the State.
Chairperson of FIDA, Adata Bio-Briggs who made this known in a statement said the meeting is to interact with the aspirants on their plans for Women.
She also said the meeting which is tagged; “Engage Rivers Women” is in furtherance of the organization’s interest in increasing women participation in politics.
Her statement reads,
The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria, Rivers State Branch is hosting a Town Hall Meeting tagged; Engage Rivers Women.
It is in furtherance of our governance and democracy goal as well as our interest in increasing women’s participation in politics. We shall together with other professionals be engaging Governorship Aspirants.
We want to hear directly from them their plans for women so as to be well informed and guided. We will also spread the word because, women are the ones who often bear the brunt of whatever decisions our political office holders make.
