Senator, Magnus Abe has emerged Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, after scoring the highest number of votes in the substitution primary election held on Saturday.
Abe, who officially announced his membership of the party on Friday, polled a total of 30 votes to emerge victorious.
The primary which held in Port Harcourt, was duly monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The former Federal Lawmaker who had maintained that he will be on the ballot for next year’s election is set to slug it out with Sim Fubara of the PDP, Tonye Cole of the APC amongst others.
He had in a statement said that Rivers people will decide who governs them, and that nobody can impose a Governor on the state.
