The Rivers State Civil Society Organizations RIVCSO, has hailed the immediate past Commissioner of Environment, Igbiks Tamuno for speaking up against the black soot in Port Harcourt and its environs.

Chairman of RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill in a statement in Port Harcourt, yesterday, said the Organization stands solidly wit Hon. Igbiks, over his position on the matter.

He described the former commissioner, as an “Anti-Soot Hero” who loves residents of Port Harcourt and its environs.

Igbiks Tamuno who was fired by Gov. Wike on Wednesday, three hours after holding a press conference to address concerns on the black soot, is yet to comment on his sack.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wike had in a statement on Wednesday, alleged that Igbiks, was sacked because he had written to construction company, Julius Berger asking them to stop work in the state, without his consent.
