The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, says the Ijaws are fully in support of the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara and not the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Secretary General of the Ijaw Youth Council, Comr. Nangi Obi made this known in a statement in Port Harcourt on Monday.

According to him, those who held a reception in honor of Wike over the weekend, do not represent the Ijaws who are duly represented by two organizations namely, the Ijaw National Congress, and the Ijaw Youth Council.

He stated that the reception was a tea party as they cannot stand behind Wike who keeps insulting the Ijaws adding that he does not deserve their support.

He urged Rivers people to continue to support Sim Fubara to take the state to greater heights.
