Rhapsody of Realities 8 November 2025: Your Vocation – A Platform to Reach Others
SCRIPTURE: Acts 18:5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
In Acts chapter 18, Luke, by the Spirit, gives us insight into the soul-winning strategy of the Apostle Paul. He arrived in Corinth and met Aquila and Priscilla, Jews who had just relocated from Italy. The Bible says they were tentmakers, and because Paul was of the same trade, he joined them and worked alongside them.
This wasn’t a mere coincidence; it was a divine strategy. Paul used his trade as a connection point—he found common ground with them. During the week, he worked. But every Sabbath, he went into the synagogue to reason with the Jews and the Greeks, persuading them concerning Christ. His tent-making served as a bridge into the lives of others, and from there, he introduced them to the Gospel. Then something significant happened. When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was stirred, pressed in the spirit, and immediately began testifying boldly that Jesus was the Christ.
The atmosphere had changed. The presence of fellow labourers brought fresh fire and inspiration. The time for reasoning was over. This shows us the power of spiritual companionship. When you’re around others who are fervent in soul winning, it propels you to greater boldness. In the company of soul winners, the Spirit moves you. You receive strength and courage to proclaim the Gospel without fear. Even Aquila and Priscilla, who initially received Paul as a tentmaker, were so impacted that later, they ministered to Apollos and helped him receive the Holy Ghost.
What started as a business relationship became a platform for transformation and ministry. Recognise that God strategically places you in certain environments for the sake of the Gospel. Be spiritually conscious of this truth and seize every opportunity to testify that Jesus is Lord. Let the excellence of your spirit shine through.
You’re not just a lawyer, banker, politician, medical doctor, marketer, or athlete; you’re a soul winner, sent from God! Your vocation is a platform for you to impact and transform the lives of those in your same line of work.

FURTHER STUDY:
Proverbs 11:30
30 The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men—he gathers and receives them for eternity].
2 Corinthians 5:19-20
19 It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).
20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.
Acts 18:1-6
18 After this [Paul] departed from Athens and went to Corinth.
2 There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently arrived from Italy with Priscilla his wife, due to the fact that Claudius had issued an edict that all the Jews were to leave Rome. And [Paul] went to see them,
3 And because he was of the same occupation, he stayed with them; and they worked [together], for they were tentmakers by trade.
4 But he discoursed and argued in the synagogue every Sabbath and won over [both] Jews and Greeks.
5 By the time Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was completely engrossed with preaching, earnestly arguing and testifying to the Jews that Jesus [is] the Christ.
6 But since they kept opposing and abusing and reviling him, he shook out his clothing [against them] and said to them, Your blood be upon your [own] heads! I am innocent [of it]. From now on I will go to the Gentiles (the heathen).
