Over one hundred and forty-three retirees of old Rivers State who worked in the ministry of finance today defiled the early morning rains, took a march to the Rivers State Government House to demand their four years entitlements which owed them from 1995 to 1999 during the military admission of Dauda Musa Komo
Leader of the retirees Vincent Ahamefula explained they were wrongfully dismissed from service by the military but were later reinstated by the Civilian administration after spending four years at home, but were however denied salaries for the four years
He said they approached the court and the court gave them judgment but nothing has been done to release their payments. Another pensioner Eli Wariboko said they were sacked from office because they opposed the illegalities in the then Ministry of finance. He said most of them are now old and feeble and pleaded with the governor to pay them
