Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie has reacted to claims from some quarters, that Covid-19 restriction on public gatherings by the Federal Government is an attempt to frustrate the activities of churches.
Onochie in a statement today in Abuja, said the claims are false. She also noted that the decision was in no way a deliberate attempt to deny churches of offerings and tithes.
She said the decision was a step in the right direction because the situation at hand is a “matter of life and death.”
The outspoken Onochie equally stated that the government was not in any way trying to deny people of seeing their loved ones this festive period.
The presidential taskforce on Covid-19 had yesterday restricted the total number of persons allowed in a gathering to 50. This is due to the surge in coronavirus cases in the country.
