PORT HARCOURT – A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator George Sekibo, has called on suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to resign, following the governor’s remarks suggesting he has lost interest in leading the state.
Fubara, speaking during a church service held in honor of the late elder statesman Edwin Clark, stated that his “spirit has left the government house,” indicating a lack of enthusiasm to continue in office.
Reacting to the statement during an interview on Arise News, Sekibo urged the embattled governor to formally vacate the position.
“If his spirit has truly left the government house, then he should resign,” Sekibo said. “Once he puts in his resignation, all the peace Rivers State has been looking for will come.”
