Some residents of Iloabuchi Waterfront in Diobu, have pleaded with Governor, Nyesom Wike not to demolish their houses as they have nowhere to go to.
The occupants, who staged a peaceful walk along Iloabuchi road today, were seen carrying placards with inscriptions like “all fingers are not equal.”
One of the occupants, identified as Sunday Nwikpo in a chat with us, declared today as “Black Wednesday” adding that demolishing the watefront would bring untold hardship and sufferings on them.
Governor, Nyesom Wike had last week issued a 7-day ultimatum which ends Today, to occupants of Waterfronts along Iloabuchi to vacate the area or face forceful eviction.
There are unconfirmed reports that the state government would start demolition of the area, Today.
