The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, says it would embark on a five-day warning strike beginning from Wednesday, following the failure of the Federal Government to meet its demands.
The decision was reached after a virtual meeting of the National Executive Council of the association on Monday.
NARD said the strike will commence at 8 am on Wednesday, May 17, and will end Monday, May 22, at 8 am.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige has described the warning strike as unnecessary since the Federal Government was already interfacing with the union.
