Nigerian music sensation Rema has made history as his debut album, Rave & Roses (Ultra version), becomes the first African project to exceed 3 billion streams on Spotify.
The record-breaking feat is largely driven by the success of the album’s lead single, Calm Down (Remix) featuring American pop star Selena Gomez, which last year became the first African song to reach 1 billion streams on the platform.
According to data, the combined versions of Calm Down alone account for over 2 billion of the total streams, while the remaining 20 tracks on the album collectively contributed less than a billion streams.
