ABUJA — A member of the House of Representatives, Solomon Bob, has called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to refund N300 million to the Rivers State Government following the association’s decision to relocate its 2025 Annual General Conference from Port Harcourt to Enugu.
Bob, who represents Abua/Odual and Ahoada East federal constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the demand in a statement issued Thursday in Abuja. He criticized the NBA’s refusal to return the funds paid as hosting rights, despite the change in venue.
The lawmaker urged the state’s Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, to explore all constitutional avenues to recover the money from the legal body.
The N300 million was reportedly approved by suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara before the federal government declared a state of emergency in the state amid a prolonged political crisis.
