The Rivers State Government says the Real Madrid Football Academy currently under construction in Port Harcourt will produce world class football stars that can be compared to global icons such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and others.
The State Commissioner of Sports, Boma Iyaye made this known when he visited the academy to check the level of work done.
Iyaye who expressed satisfaction on the level of work done said the facility can be compared to any in the world.
“I never thought it would be this huge when we started this project. I am really short of words to thank the governor, he has made sure that funds are provided for this iconic project and I am sure that our indigenes would be proud of this Football Academy,” he said.
