Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a 50 per cent reduction in fares on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line to mark its second anniversary on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The governor, in a statement on Wednesday, said the Blue Line had transported more than five million passengers in its two years of operation without recording a single accident. He added that trains now run every ten minutes, completing over 90 trips daily.
According to him, the service has significantly reduced travel time for commuters, underscoring the state’s commitment to building efficient transport systems.
Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation to Lagos residents for their support, noting that the success of the project reflected the collective belief in a greater Lagos.
He urged those who have not yet used the Blue Line to take advantage of the discounted fares and experience the service.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding safe and reliable transportation options, adding that the Blue Line milestone was part of efforts to build “the Lagos of our future.”
