In a bid to encourage excellence and hardwork, the Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation has announced a monthly monetary award for the “Worker of the Month.”
The State Commissioner for Social Welfare Ilamu Arugu,made this known during a farewell ceremony in honour of retired staff of the ministry, Mrs. Jacinta Vipene Lenu, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
According to him, the initiative will encourage excellence and hard work among staff in the Ministry.
He said, best worker of the month will be rewarded with the sum of one hundred thousand naira ( ₦100,000 prize).
