Former Minister of Youth and Sports and member of the newly formed coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Solomon Dalung, has advised the embattled Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, to reconsider his political future after completing his current tenure.
Dalung, who commented during an interview with journalists commended Fubara’s integrity and personal character but argued that the governor lacks the political tact and resilience needed to navigate Nigeria’s turbulent political terrain.
He said Fubara’s simplicity and political inexperience have made him susceptible to manipulation and left him exposed to hostile forces within the state.
Commenting on the political unrest in Rivers State, Dalung blamed the absence of a formidable opposition for allowing President Bola Tinubu to allegedly interfere in the state’s affairs.
On the prospects of the new opposition coalition, Dalung dismissed doubts about its ability to challenge the current administration. He declared that when the time comes, neither President Tinubu nor the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be able to resist the pressure from the Nigerian people.
